Nancy E. Meléndez Soto artistically known as “Nanciem”, was born in 1974 in the town of Las Piedras where she still resides. Melendez is an autodidact artist who at an early age ventured into art, drawing, painting, sculpture, and many more. Although her present inclination is sculpture, she is registered with the ICPR and the Development Company, Art Workshop Summer Camp 2005, Universidad del Este and Project Gear Up, which have given her the opportunity develop herself artistically, professionally and commercially. She belongs to the East Artistic Guild with which she has exhibited in various places on the Island such as Hotel El Convento, Calle San Sebastián and the Art Center.

Recently, she made an exclusive presentation for the College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico at the Conquistador Hotel and has exhibited his works in public and private spaces such as: Galería Tamara, Galería Espacio 304, Plaza del Caribe in Ponce, Plaza Las Américas, Centro Ceremonial Indígena Tibes in Ponce, the Ángel “Lito” Peña Art Museum in Humacao, the Arecibo Museum of Art and History, the Rectoría del Turabo Historic House and the renowned ARWI Exhibition.
