Puerto Rican painter, draftsman and muralist Jean Oyola was born in Bayamón, he currently resides and works in the town of Loíza, Puerto Rico. In 2015, he obtained a Magna Cum Laude Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, with a specialty in Visual Arts from the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan, Puerto Rico funded by a scholarship from the AT&T Foundation. While still a student, he participated in the 16th National Art Show (2015) organized by the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, in addition to presenting work at the Puerto Rico Museum of Art (2016), and participating in several editions of urban festivals such as Santurce es Ley (2013, 2014), and Yaucromatic 2 (2018). His work has reached international cities such as Venice, Italy where his work was shown in Contemporary Venice (2015) and an artist residency with the Con Artist Collective gallery in New York. In 2019 he was selected to participate in the ArtBattle NY international live painting competition, in addition to presenting work at Mana Contemporary in Newark, Jersey City; and the MECA Illustration Art Show.
